Kids' Thoughts
|
Tons of people love SJB and SMA.I want to be in this school untill 8th grade and i want other people to see what this school is like because this school is like my life i am there 6 hours a day and I love it.
I love SJB. IF it closes not everyone can be with their friends. The bishop believes in God why cant he believe we can SAVE OUR SCHOOL.
I dont think that alot of people realize that by closing these feeder schools, that Seton Catholic is also in danger of closing. We need support not only from the elementary schools but also from the parents and students of Seton Catholic.
I love my teacher,Miss Alba, and would miss my friends if my school closed. I hope and pray the Easter Bunny leaves the Bishop some chocolate that will change his mind!
SJB is the place for Me!! I Love My School!! I have great times with my class, and My teacher is great!!
these are only a few of the many, many kids' entries from our guest books. To read more, please scroll to the bottom of this page to the GUEST BOOKS. It's heartbreaking to read their pleas to keep their schools open. |

St. John the Baptist Elementary School in Pittston (1917- June 4,2004) and Saint Mary's Grade School in Avoca, PA (1919 - June 4,2004), closed on June 4, 2004 despite a long battle, which included a lawsuit filed by parents of SJB, to keep them opened.
Many of the students' parents have, as a result of their disillusionment with Bishop Joseph F. Martino, the Diocese of Scranton, and the Catholic Schools office, enrolled the children in public school.
